The booking and therapeutic process...
This is how it works from start to finish.

I offer a free 20 minute introductory video call which gives me an idea of the challenges you are facing and you can find out more about how I work.

Before booking your call, you’ll be asked to complete a short intake form. This helps me tailor our conversation to your needs. If you choose not to go ahead with therapy, your information will be deleted in line with data protection guidance.

An assessment helps us gain a detailed understanding of your current difficulties, life experiences, and strengths, so we can make sense of what’s happening and identify the most appropriate therapy moving forward.

Sometimes an assessment session is all you need.

We will review your progress together regularly to ensure therapy continues to feel helpful.

We can adjust therapy as needed to meet your needs.

If you feel I'm the right fit for you, you can book your assessment session (booking link will be sent to you via email).

You will be asked to sign a consent form before we begin.

After your assessment we will then begin your therapy sessions.

Sessions can be provided weekly or fortnightly depending on your needs.

You are free to end therapy whenever you choose.

It’s helpful to have a session’s notice so we can end our work together in a supportive way.

The purpose of an assessment is to get a sense of your current challenges and think about what you’d like to be different in your life. Together, we create a formulation, which is a shared understanding of how your difficulties developed, what may be making things harder at the moment and what could help. This formulation is like a roadmap for therapy, which we review and update along the way.

The first appointment will also allow you to see if you think we can work together and if I’m the right therapist for you. It has been shown that the therapeutic relationship is a significant factor in getting better in therapy so it’s important you feel that we have a good ‘therapeutic fit’.

Sometimes following assessment, I might conclude that I am not the best person to offer you the right service at this point in time. If that happens, I will explain why and guide you toward suitable alternatives or other sources of support.

Typically, assessments can be completed in a 1.5 hour session; however, there are times when more time is needed due to the complexity of the situation.

Together, we’ll create a supportive and collaborative space where you can process your feelings and explore what matters to you, at a pace that feels right.

If you feel therapy might be helpful, we’ll talk together about what to focus on, the type of approach that could support you best, and roughly how long we might work together so you know what to expect. I offer flexible options depending on your needs.

For some, just one or two consultations are enough to bring clarity around a specific issue, such as untangling ongoing challenges, finding ways to cope during a difficult time, or understanding your own or your child’s neurotype. For others, short-term therapy (6 -10 sessions) may help address a particular goal, while longer-term therapy offers more space to process trauma, explore identity, and support ongoing growth.

We will regularly review our sessions to ensure we’re progressing towards your goals and that the therapeutic approach continues to be aligned with your needs.

Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and free from shame. I will be alongside you on your therapy journey, supporting you to make the changes you are working towards.

I can meet you on a weekly or fortnightly basis, whatever suits you best. Each session would last for around 60 minutes and would take place either online or in the same comfortable, safe and confidential setting.

Please note: There are certain situations where my service may not be the right fit. I do not provide therapy when it is court-ordered or part of ongoing insurance, litigation, or court processes. I am also unable to offer therapy when the client does not want therapy or does not wish for the situation to change. In some cases, an NHS wrap-around service would be more appropriate - for example, in situations involving severe self-harm or suicide attempts, extremely low weight related to eating disorders, psychosis, drug or alcohol addiction, or sexually harmful behaviours.
